This was one made by Sanu during the Dasein rush. They all do it including Bura -- except old faithful, Kesar. He just pecks away and gets it right every time while the others are rushing around. And, the kamis don't rush just for us. They get paid for what they do and they are trying to build up a little Dasein holiday money.
Anyway, this is a 16.5" 29 ounce WWII chiruwa style model Sanu made in a hurry. The bolster failed and the slabs pulled away from the tang 1/32" or so. The fix is either epoxy or wire wrap. If it was me I'd clamp the handle back and wire wrap the handle from bolster down about two inches and the knife will last for 100 years. Good scabbard karda and chakma.
Take this little project knife for $50, do an hour's work and save yourself $75.
