I thought this WWII Royal Navy knife was extra special as it has the seaman's name on it. Looks like it once belonged to Royston? Simkin.

Man, that is one cool knife!!!

You can't buy or create patina like that, it's only earned hard. I wonder what happened to Mr. Simkin, and if he survived the war?

That is cool. It'd be great to figure out the history in that name, where he & that knife have been.

Is the handle aluminum?
 
I've got knives over the years that have had initials or names on them or the sheaths. Always thought it would have been a cool research project to try and locate the person or relatives.

I would think typically the knife was fairly important to the owner if they went to the trouble to mark it with their name. (Other than the usual that it might get taken accidentally or lost)

Cool knife anyway!

That's pretty neat. I haven't seen many knives with a name on them, and that one looks like he got plenty of use out of it. Hope you enjoy it.
