Gentlemen,

After 6OOPM tonight (when the server is finished setting up the email path for the form) please click here and fill out the WWIII registration form. You will be able to customize your WWIII using this form. Please note that if you decide on olive handles, you will automatically get an olive micarta sheath. Otherwise, all sheaths will be black.

Again, thanks for your patience as we sorted through all the details of the project. Robert Couture (the handle maker) will have all the WWIIIs by next week, and will start cranking them out. As they are finished, they'll be forwarded to EdgeWorks for sheathing, and then on to me for final inspection and shipping.

At this time, we're taking no new orders for WWIIIs. We've sold 37. The remaining 3 will be kept in reserve in case I screwed up and left somebody's name off the list. They'll also be used to try to get some publicity on the project. This should increase the value of the WWIII from a collector's perspective.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed. Now, who wanted that pink WWIII with pearl handles?

Craig,
I sent in the electronic form, but there was no "address below" to mail the deposit to. Can you just put it on my plastic (whose number you may have memorized by now

) or post the address to send the check to? Thanks - starting to get really excited now.
Berk

Craig –

I’d also like to put this deposit on my credit card, if possible (it’s no big deal either way, but like Berk mentioned, we’ll need an address if you want us to send in checks or money orders). Also, I received an error message when I attempted to submit the preferences for my WWIII (# 8). I don’t know if it was transmitted or not; I’ll try to re-submit it when I get home. Please ignore the second submission if it’s a duplicate.

I’m really looking forward to this blade, too…

Guys: Sorry about that address not being there - I corrected it and it's there now.

As for credit cards, we can do that for the balance when it comes due, but can you do me a favor and send a check - it makes tracking one heck of a lot easier.

Thanks for the help.

Craig.

PS: Can you all wait until this evening to fill out the form? Thanks (the server takes time to get the new email address set up).

Craig,

Which do you prefer the check made out to, "Craig Gottlieb", "Gurkha House", or "Cystern"?

Craig, I think I speak for most of the other forumites when I say "Thank You" for taking on such a task as the WW III project. I know it has probably aged you prematurely, but we do appreciate the effort. And, besides, a young'un such as yourself can stand a little aging.

Seriously, I know it's a pain in the ass for you, but we really appreciate this opportunity to have a "one of a kind" khuk.

Steven: No sweat. Now please bear with me while I ask you all to visit and fill out the form again - the email link didn't work, and I have received no forms. Thanks for YOUR patience while I cut my teeth on this new technology.

Hope you do not mind a hand written copy of the order. The printer ran out of ink and I'm off to work tomorrow for the next 4 days. Monday our IG/NSI/CCA inspection starts and who knows when I'll be able to visit BF again
UGH I hate telephone standby

Wow 40 WWIIIs. I remember when this project started, I just wanted Craig to make me one. Then we got a handful interested people. Then 25 orders. And now. . .

I still say this is only the beginning. Someday all khukuris will be made like this.

Theres a couple more ideas in the back burner

Guys: I don't care if it's in crayon!

As for the project, tallwinged one, it sure has grown. I am in the process this weekend of cleaning off the blades before I ship them off to Robert on Tuesday. As I inspect them all finally, I note one common similarity: the blades are straight, flawless, and thick. The kamis really did a good job on these. Another interesting thing is that SOME of the tangs are internally marked with numbers that do not correspond to the model number. Perhaps some sort of control number. Makes me think of WWII German daggers.

Pictures will definitely be forthcoming, although you can see a picture of WWIII number one on a thread (I think it's called "The WWIII is Here").

And Tallwinged: Number One was always intended to be sold (Berkley being the lucky one). We do have a prototype that will get auctioned off on bladeforums, with the entire procedes to go to a Nepali charity. It won't be numbered, and it won't have "Prototype" on it either. It'll just be plain. Sorry if there was any confusion over that.

Actually, Number One was always intended to be sold. It was the prototype that will be aucitoned off on bladeforums, with all procedes going to a Nepal charity.

Sorry about the confusion.

Guys: thanks for all the envelopes! I'm really excited about these now that things are really rolling. The first 20 are off to the handle maker, who is going to start on the first one this weekend.

Scott at Edgeworks is standing by to sheath the first 20. Once the first 20 are handled and off to Edgeworks, I'll ship the remaining 20 off to Robert to undergo the process.
