why did this get moved to gadgets and gear when its a knife related topic
 
Because you are not discussing a specific knife. There is as an app you can download for your phone, which is considered a gadget. ;)
 
I did not know there was an app but it seems to me that the information in there would be more benifisal to New knife people and would reach them better in general knife discussion than in gadgets and gear. The app seems to me to be a far smaller part of the site than the large amount of date. Sientific date with steel comparisons and break downs. Terms and definitions related to all things knife related. This info would help educate new knife people in a non biased form. I mean what does not have an app now.

Are you by any chance mixing up zknives.com with zvisoft.com? To clarify, I own/author/maintain both, and the app you are referring to has a dedicated site, zvisoft.com.
zknives.com is however a general knife resource site, and I am not sure how does that qualify as a gadget, it's is quite large and covers a lot more topics than just knife steel.
Other than the fact that it can be viewed on a gadget (for which it isn't even optimized), in which case any website would qualify?
Links to knife related websites get posted in general knife discussion forum routinely, just do a search with "resource OR website" keywords in titles, it brings up hundreds of threads.
Did something change?

Great site with great knife reviews that I really enjoy. I found it as a link from Phil Wilson's custom knives web site and did a search here to see if it was mentioned anywhere. I'm sorry to see this thread is still dumped in with gadgets, where it doesn't belong and few people are likely to find it.
