I’m looking at some knives and one has X-105 steel and another has PGK steel. I haven’t been able to find much about these steels. Can someone enlighten me about these steels and what more common equivalent steel to each of these is? Appreciate any information or guidance that can be shared.

Per zknives (great app, btw, would highly recommend it), looks there are two likely candidates for X-105.

One is similar to 440C with full designation of X105CrMo17.

The other is closer to N690 with a Cobalt addition. Full designation looks like it would be X105CrCoMo18-2.

PGK, I'm pretty sure, has been made by US Company Latrobe, and is in the same family as Cru-Wear, PD1, Vascowear, and Z-Wear, 8% Cr steels. Don't have any PGK though Cru-Wear and PD1 have been pretty great.
