Dave at Nordic Knives and Gary Nelson at Nelson Custom Knives made this a VERY early x-mas for me: a Randall 1-7 in stag, and a Randall 12-8 in stag.
Both gentlemen were quick to respond to all my emails, and I must say I was surprised as how quick the knives arrived. They came a day EARLY, and their communication was spot on and fast the whole way.
I highly recommend purchasing from them, as I will in the future.
I've attached both pieces. I'm still kinda floored, truth be told. The Model 1 is my first one, and the history and legend behind the design is quite evident once I handled it. Fast, light, a good fighter for sure. But the design is such that you can see it do food prep/med chores easily and with great ergos.
The 12-8...is a beast. The minute I held her she was ready to go. This is one is a true fighter, although I've read that Keating uses his 12-8 for his travels around the world.
The stag on both, in my hands, from afar, it doesn't matter: they are BEAUTIFUL. Fit and finish lives up to everything Randall is about.
