CAROL DROPPED ME OFF AND RETURNED ABOUT 2.5 HOURS LATER WITH ZEUS

I TALKED HER INTO SOME HIKING AND KNIFE TESTING(SHE HAS A LUNG INFECTION-SO SHE DID NOT STAY LONG)

ORDER THE KNIVES FINISHED IN

DSC00050.jpg

THE ABOVE PHOTO SHOWED HOW THEY FINISHED--TOP WAS BEST.

#1:STRIPPED MUD RAZOR WAS THE BEST OVERALL(COMFORT,SHARPNESS,ETC)-HAD A FORUM MEMBER PUT A NEW EDGE ON IT-AND REPAIR THE TIP.THANKS WARREN!!
#2:THEN CAMP TRAMP(GREAT HANDLE)--VERY CLOSE TO #1--BUT NEEDS THE EDGE THINNED.
#3:THEN TANK BUSTER(I LOVE THIS THING--BUT I NEED TO HAVE THE EDGE THINNED OUT)--
VERY STURDY FEELING KNIFE.DO NOT THINK YOU COULD DAMAGE THIS.
#4:LAST WAS A HANDMADE BY BROCK KNIVES--GRIP IS TOO SLICK.GOING TO SCUFF IT UP.BUT IS THE BEST VALUE($70)--IF YOU NEED A GOOD KNIFE--CONTACT HIM.

Great pics! I didn't realize how close in size the TB and HR are! The blades look almost identical in profile, and the handles are really close, too.

That Brock does look good, too:thumbup:

THEY ARE VERY CLOSE IN SIZE(TB AND MUD/HELL RAZOR)

TB IS 1/4" THICK--ALMOST ALL THE WAY OUT TO THE TIP OF THE BLADE.

THE MUD RAZOR(AND HELL RAZOR) IS 3/16" THICK--AND TAPERS AS IT GOES TO THE POINT.

THE TB FEELS MORE LIKE A SOLID BAR--THAT CUTS.

THE MUD RAZOR FEELS LIKE A FIGHTER.IT'S ABOUT 1/2" LONGER THAN THE TB--BUT THINNER.

THE GRIPS OF THE TB ARE SLIGHTLY LONGER.1/2 THE PEOPLE I TRAIN MARTIAL ARTS TO LIKE THE TB BETTER-THE OTHERS LIKE THE MUD RAZOR.

MORE OUT OF THICKNESS(HANDLES ARE THE SAME--BUT THE TB IS THICKER TANG)

THE BROCK MADE KNIFE IS AN EXCELLENT VALUE---I HAVE TRIED TO DAMAGE IT--BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE COMMENTS ON ZEUS--HE WILL BE 18 MONTHS OLD NEXT MONTH.

nice review! ive been wanting a camptramp for a while...got the SOD instead

Handle wise they are the same--but the SOD is thicker

I just sold a SOD to a patient of mine--He also agreed that when he held them side by side-it was very hard to tell them apart just by feeling.

The SOD is a GREAT knife!!!

He is a very handsome dog, indeed. Thanks for sharing, I will have to look into the brock knives

Nice....I modded my SOD to look like a camp tramp by removing the ramp and guard. I like the blade 1000x better for it now. Just lets me really choke up on it when I want to and I can get two fingers, one in the choil and one on the hilt (used to be guard) for detail work.

Anyhow, great photos. No Seigle out today????

SOUNDS LIKE GREAT MODS TO THAT SOD:thumbup:

I WENT TO WACO WITH THE ORIGINAL PLAN TO TEST THE TANK BUSTER--

I CHOOSE TO BRING 3 OTHERS THAT WERE AS CLOSE TO IT AS I COULD FIND IN MY VAST COLLECTION(VAST IS WHAT I CALL IT)

I DID NOT HAVE HAVE ANY SIEGLES IN THAT SIZE RANGE(7.5" BLADE)

MY WIFE OWNS THE THAT SIEGLE (SECOND FROM TOP)

Picture006.jpg

It's about 1/2" longer than a Camp Tramp.Best handling 7.5" blade I ever used.Wife liked it so much I gave it to her.

nice job and good to see old school rat doing so well.

Love my Tramp and it's the last knife I would ever sell.

I like the look of the hell razor, would like to pick one up but I got my BATAC--too similar to make it worth it

Thanks for the post Bill!!! Great knives Bro and Zeus still looking good. Sorry to hear of Carols lung infection, that makes for a miserable trip. Hope she is doing better soon.

The HR is one of my favorites Jerry ever put out. The feel is perfect IMHO.
