I have been told that X55CrMo14 stainless steel is widely used in Europe. It is a mid-priced steel but strong enough to use in bushcraft.
Harder to sharpen than N690 stainless because it has less edge retention.
I would have thought that it would have been harder to sharpen because it has more edge retention.
Anybody have any thoughts/views/experience on these 2 steels for bushcraft use?
Thanks,
Joe
