XHP Military sticky lock?

So I have three of the XHP millies (don't ask, love them that much), and two of them have locks that engage VERY early and stick pretty badly.

This isn't a complaint thread. I already searched and googled to no avail. So I ask, will this become smooth over time? None of my other 5 have had this problem, so I don't have anything else to go on.

The last Military i purchased had a very sticky lock, it really hurt closing it, i hated it because of that, but within a week of torture to my thumb it became very smooth and easy to unlock, and then i fell in love with it. I suspect yours will be the same, just open and close it and eventually it will become much easier. Also mine had very early lock-up, too early you could say, but that too adjusted itself in like a week.

It would think it may take a while to smooth, and they may always be sticky if its that sticky. One of my two XHP Millies was very sticky, and very hard to unlock. I sent it back and was sent another that locks up really early but doesn't stick at all. Thats the only millie I've ever had with a very sticky lock.

edit, I see Franz had good luck with his smothing out, so maybe yours will do the same.

Mine just makes a little click when you disengage the liner lock. Tacky is ok with me if it's not excessive.

mine is very early too and sticks a little bit. no problem with that, but what bothers me more is that it lacks the "signature" very strong detent of the linerlock milies.

Never had a military but did have a para 2 with a very very very sticky lock after maybe 2-3 thousand openings (serious). I filed down the compression lock with the coarse stone from a sharpmaker. Smooth as butter now. But be careful, filing away too much may give it blade play. For me I filed about 10 times and then tested, another 10 and tested, ect.

Is the blade in center when closed?
I did a bigger lanyardhole one mine and when i assambled the knife, it got sticky when it was of center.
It got better wben was centerd

It is ever so slightly biased towards the locking side, but I've tried to center it to no avail. What is your technique?

The pivot screw was my adjusting problem.
When i screwed it down, look at centering of the blade.
Not too tight or too loose.
And keep feeling the opening action.
Or search on youtube there are vid out there about this problem.

Found this video, this technique looks promising.

For off centered blades, what I usually try first is to loosen the pivot and push on the side where you insert the torx bit. This results in the other end of the pivot protruding out a bit. Then I slowly tighten while watching blade centering.

Thanks brother I'll try it. Unit's method did work, but I guess when tightening the screws I put a lot of pressure on the knife making it off center again.
