Xikar knives...

I was thinking about buying the Elan model with the Chinese Quince wood handles but I have no experience with the brand. I know that they are relatively new but does anyone know about this company and the quality of their knives?
Thanks,
Matt

We had a discussion about these knives before, however no one seemed to be willing to mention the company name. I believe the few people that commented on them seemed to think they made better cigar cutters than they did knives. The cheaper models were apparently of better quality than the high end ones.

I just lost today a small xikar frame locking knife/cigar cutter in Aus-8 today playing paintball, Oh well. I liked the knife and it was a good size and had a decent edge and sharpened very well. I can't say they are great knives, but them cigar cutters go through tobacco like a hot knife through butter. God Bless, Phillip

I'm going to BTTT because I'm still wanting more opinions.
Thanks,
Matt
Phillip,
Which model?

BTTT, it's been a while since the last post and I am curious about any owners' experiences with the Xikar brand products.

Thanks for any responses.

I handled a small framelock one at a cigar store and considered getting it. Smooth action, solid lockup. It had carbon fiber scales, nicely done. Lately, I've been into customs, so I passed on it. But I left the store thinking about it.

Seems this thread kind of faded away.
Well, I received a Xikar Extreme (Xi-1888BGTR) recently, and have to say that the Italians make a good knife!
