Just finished up today, Xtra Large Recurve Chopper, forgot to actually put the tape measure on it before shipping, but size is approximately 16"+overall x 10.5" long x 2.5" wide blade of forged 1095, between 1/4 and 5/16 at spine.

Has alot of activity below the hardening line that dont show in the pics. Handle is black canvas micarta, plenty of contour, shape and drop to it. REALLY liked cutting bamboo with this one.

hi Chris... unfortunately its not for sale, the current owner has been waiting a while. Will be making a few more in the near future, the next one will be a bit dressed up.

Matt,

You have the EYE for making flat out gorgeous knives, which is the highest compliment that I can pay to a maker. FYI other guys who have the EYE, imho, are Russ Andrews, Kevin Cashen, Harvey Dean, Burt Foster, Don Hanson lll, Jason Knight, and Nick Wheeler. Not bad company ;)

The owner of this one should be VERY pleased! It looks like a chopping machine. I like the shape and drop in the handle.
Dressing one up should just be awesome!

Did this one wail through the bamboo ? :)

Another great blade from you,Matt.
Really like the handle shape and black micarta.
Can't wait to see a fancy one.

the "recurve" on this one is a bit less drastic than thhe last few ive made. This one can be sharpened on a flat stone if your real carefull. That is one dilema with some recurves, they can be a bit hard to sharpen on a typical bench stone.

Murdok, best way to get one is to watch the for sale by maker section here, watch my for sale section of my site, or just call and razz me about every 2 weeks or so, thats the route that many seem to take :D

Doug, since this is a big wide knife with alot of forward weighth I left alot of thickness to the edge before rolling the convex angle in.... it handles bamboo very well;)

Next one I do is going to have either a stainless or rust blued guard and curly maple or walnut handle, will likley be next month.
