these leylands came in from S.C. I don't know why they used these straps to hold trunk and roots in place in root ball. The problem is they won't dissenagrate,I had to swap them out for this kerosene treated twine . Even though its treated it will dissenagrate under soil in six months.

Now into the review of knife. I can't put into words how much I love this knife.the feel of it in hand is great . The f and f on this knife is only matched by customs. No other production /semi custom comes close. The feel of the lockbar, the flawlessness of its construction is superb. Some people might say the one downside is its not the best slicer due to how thick the blade is. I personal have not had an issue with that due to how awesome the cts xhp cuts. I like the way xhp cuts twine better then any other steel I've used in pe. Cts xhp really is just a remarkable steel IME YMMV it sharpens as easy as vg10 yet holds and edge like zdp.its more stainless then zdp though and is quite a bit tougher.I can go a week to two at my job without having to touch up the edge, wich at my job is quite impressive. This is one knife I will say is well worth the money. Here is some nice shots, I have a full stonewashed Xm

last pic was just weird lighting.

One last thing I forgot to mention is the spanto. When im at work I don't like when I pull out my knife and say,"maybe I shouldnt use this blade for that". With the xm I rarely have to say that because the spanto makes this blade one tough s o b.

Hmm, does it ever open in your pocket with tip up carry? I find very little detent action on mine, so I never feel brave enough to carry it tip up. I do like how that makes the opening liquid smooth though, and the way it feels in hand is right up there with my Umnumzaan.

Nice little review, and looks like an awesome knife. I'm jealous. Have you put that spanto tip through it's paces yet and given it some hard use? I've always heard that these XMs can handle it without breaking a sweat.

Mine has very little detent also but I keep my pivot a little tighter so you have to use a slight wrist action when opening but it helps the detent a bit.I have never had it open in pocket , im in and out of skid steers and jumping on and off trucks alot throughout the day.when you put it away in your pocket just make sure its back as far as possible that would help as well but I've never had a problem.

Yeah I've put the spanto to good use, stabbed through some thick pots and what not .I tend to treat my xm more like I treat my fixed blades then I do my other folders, in use

The bit I have used the steel so far I hav e seen no wear but the usage has be minimal as im kind of in between seasons at nursery. Im sending the frame out to be blasted because even with the grooves it was slick. A forum member here does it for free for other members wich is just too cool.
