Hello gurus!

Need your expert advice for a problem I have here.
I've just gotten a 3" Non-flipper Slicer from a fellow forumer, and I was taking it apart to clean it 'cuz
it wasn't smooth and was kinda grimey/dusty inside the liners.

What I discovered the moment I finished undoing all the screws and remove the handle slab,
there was a chunk of teflon washer, cleanly sliced off!

Prior to this, I have taken apart the 3.5 and 4.0 - i always use the Hinderer tool and this 3" was no exception.
Though it looked like a small problem, but it made me curious how this could have happened.

I've since sent an email to the seller, but while waiting for his reply - Does anyone know if I can buy replacement washers off Hinderer?

Appreciate any help in advanced!

Rob should be able to send you replacements. But it won't be until next week. Rick and Rob are on R&R this week!

Simple, when they were reassembling, they attempted to assemble the sandwich of parts without the pivot in place. The washer moved out of alignment and when they inserted the pivot it sliced a new hole. As they say "user assembly error".

Hinderer Knives will hook you up, but you will have to wait until next week as previously stated.

Thanks for the quick response guys!

It left me dumbfounded when I saw it.
Glad to know RHK will replace them.
I shall send Rob an email right away.

Once again, thanks~

As soon as the crew is back at the workshop I am sure Rob will send you some replacements immediately - just drop him an email. He hooked me up right away as I needed a replacement as well for my 3" slicer. I needed one because when I did my first take down I grabbed the washer by the edges and folded it in half - so don't do that! You probably already know this as well, but the blue loctite on the pivot screw is essential and well worth the $10; otherwise you will be constantly adjusting your pivot setup.

Agreed, they are rather fragile because they are so thin.
I usually slide them out and hold them by the flat sides.
A dap of Loctite/Permatex is always a must everytime when I'm done assembling.
Unfortunately, I can't use the knife for now because of the broken washer.
Guess i'll have to sit tight til Rob gets back :)

Reassemble it with the old washer and use it in the mean time.
