I just scored my first Hinderer (XM-18 3.5") and while I am waiting for it to make the journey home, I thought I would get a scale and some standoff's to make it my own. I really want one of the Gray scales, but the 3.5" scales in Gray are had to find. I was on Blade HQ and they have a gray scale listed for XM-18 4" as well as some other colors. On another page, they have a section for XM-24 4" so I was confused.

I have read up on the history of the Generations of XM's and have never seen anything written about an XM-18 4" blade. I sent Blade HQ an email asking if the description was a mistake and maybe it is supposed to be for a 3.5" knife. I got a reply saying the listing was correct and that there are XM-18 4" knives out there and they still get some from time to time.

Is this a real model? Links to the individual listing and the page showing more with this description included below

The 4" model, when in its infancy, was referred to as the 4" XM-18. But, the 4" model very quickly became known as the XM-24.

So no, there really isn't a 4" XM-18 model, there is a 3" XM-18, a 3.5" XM-18 and the 4" XM-24.

Congrats on the score ebnash , i got myself a XM-18 3.5 the other day as well. My XM-18 has been doing pocket duty for the last two weeks and i am a happy camper .
