Are the current xm 18's a good version detent wise and flipping action, and can these knives be sent back for free service and sharpening like crk's?????

^ I second this, all of the xm18s I have had in the last year have been great flippers with a good detent, even without a pb washer swap.

Most retailers will hand pick one for you if you ask. That should ease your mind too.

RHK doesn't sell them but you can find them on knife maker supply websites. Search the forums here for a thread on replacing the nylon with pb washers by halden.doerge

99% of the detents on the Hinderers over the past couple of years are great. It is still not a bad idea to ask a dealer to check. Most do not mind. We do it all the time.
