So I picked up a used xm-24,got it on the 24th, and after taking it apart for a cleaning I can't seem to get the blade centered while keeping it functional. If I tighten the pivot to the point where it is centered then it becomes just about impossible to open,but if I loosten it to the point where it flips nicely then the blade is about a hair away from smacking the liners.none of the parts seem damaged,no messed up threads or anything,and the Teflon washers seem to be in good shape,so I assume I'm putting it back together incorrectly. Anyone else ever had this problem that could give me some helpful tips?

Try this:
1) Loosen up all the handle screws and the pivot screw;
2) Push the blade over to the lock side and insert a folded piece of paper or cardboard between the blade and the right scale to keep the blade pushed up against the lock side;
3) Gently smack the back of the knife against a magazine or towel on your desk or table a few times. You are trying to get the handles and pivot to re-align just a few nano-meters;
4) Now tighten the pivot screw ALL THE WAY tight;
5) Now tighten the handle screws ALL THE WAY tight;
6) Now remove the paper wedge;
7) Now loosen the pivot to where you like the action. Hopefully the blade is now perfectly centered.

The paper trick worked,and luckily my blue locktite will be arriving today so I can have it all fixed up. Thanks.
