I have a xm 3 titanium pivot screw and a xm.3.5 warnie on its way to my house.will the xm 3 titanium pivot screw bronze fit in the xm.3.5 warnie.I checked the hinderer website and it only gave one size for the pivot screw.if not im stuck with a xm3 bronze titanium pivot screw.I guess I can allways trade or sell it

It will not fit. Sorry man.
Most all the hardware only works on 1 size knife, which few exceptions.

Trading is tough because 3.5" parts are more rare.
Selling would be your best bet.

I am finding that out the hard way.I have every other piece of hardwear bronze titanium and also a cf scale.the pivot is the only missing one.I quess I can bronze the stock pivot.I have done it before with other knived has anyone done it with a hinderer stock pivot

I have heard of guys heating the stock steel pivot to change it.

I actually just had my xm scale bead blasted, and hardware anodized myself. Should be here in a couple days.

tmack was youre hardware titanium?have you tried the pivot.I never anodized stainless.I am going for bronze

Yeah my hardware was all ti.

Technically you can't "anodize" stainless, but you can alter the color with heat. Getting each piece to match will be difficult. :(

Third party work's never been popular in this forum. If this conversation keeps going that way, the thread may be moved.

On the Tube, etc there are videos on heat anodizing metals and so on...

I don't partake in parts/work outside official channels so I'm no resource on this tinkering topic.

Maybe hardware stuff is covered in the stickies? I'm thinking (busy, so quick top of mind posts).

im just asking a question.third party work?its my knife im asking a question?whos the second party?I just checked the rules nothing about asking if I can anodize my pivot.the popular means nothing to me I can care less what someone else thinks.not.everone has time to read everything.so I ask questions exactly what this forums about.thank you tmak for answering my question..need2know you no it all.you no what you can do with youreself! so.its come to a point no one can ask in hinderer room if need2know has the answer.I got my answer you can close the thread before he cries

By the way, the 3" pivot screw does fit in the 3.5", the threads are the same. It will be slightly shorter (the 3" pivot screw is approximately 0.85" shorter than the 3.5" screw or about 83% of the length of the 3.5" screw). Despite the shorter length, there is more than sufficient thread engagement to work properly, the only issue is that it will not fill out the pivot barrel nut as fully as the proper screw.

No need to get personal. He was simply letting you know if the thread went towards other vendors/or you moding your knife outside of factory available parts the mods would ask the conversation be steered back towards factory parts.

Your pivot screw should engage in the threads. If it were me I'd also put a little locktite just to make sure it stayed there. Post a pic if you end up doing it.

Best,
