I was wondering how many different types of Steel Rick has used thus far, does anybody know? And from those that have had and used these, what ones do you think is the best and why?

Since you wrote XM-18, I'd agree with the Juiceman. I have seen so much of Mr. Hinderer's work in old pics - just amazing and beautiful knives, many of them pure artwork, that I'd hazard a guess that he's made protos, limited runs and one of a kinds that probably have a whole lot of steels that weren't mentioned.

I'll let the more seasoned veteran collectors chime in. :)

I have a 20CV XM-18 that Rick was kind enough to send me in Afghanistan (with a nice care package). I've used many s30V blades and that 20CV is much better. It's easier to sharpen and holds its edge very well. I haven't been able to chip it.
