Do you have reason to suspect yours isn't real? The fit and finish on an XM18 would be pretty hard to fake.

Is the XM18 copied often?
 
Ship it to me, I will inspect it for you and send it back in a few months...I promise:)
 
you can do the old magnet trick, but that'll only tell you that the handle isn't steel. if you can tell by weight if it's aluminum or not, that'll help. if you have a scale we can tell you if it is.

other than the blade, there shouldn't be any sharp edges on an XM-18. a lot of fakes don't bother with fixing that.

most importantly TAKE A PICTURE.

yeah, I agree. try running over your knife with a truck. if it survives without a scratch it's an XM-18. if somehow you still have doubts. throw it, blade first, into a tree until it breaks. if you're successful it's not an XM-18. people need to start writing lists of chuck norris-esque anecdotes for hinderer folders.
 
if its one bought from the forums, i doubt it would be fake. if it was fleabay, its hard to say. does it open smooth without any roughness? have a good even grind on both sides?

I saw the XM-18's you bought dude. They're not fake - be happy everybody wants one! :) If you don't want those 2 fakes, I'll gladly take them off your hands for a "reduced because of fakeness" price. :D
