This showed up today and I am very impressed! A+ for Busse!!!

I love the way the handle feels in my hand - it lends itself to myriad different hand holds and the balance is excellent. Love the blade shape also - its just sharp looking. Glad I got it with a choil as muscle memory dictated - Im used to chocking up and have cut myself doing so out of habit on my Canadian special that has no choil...

The coating is pretty rough in texture - if any blades dull in the field I can easily touch em up on the TB :D Time will tell how it will wear, but how can you resist the color!!!!

Cant wait to get to the country to give it a test - I can tell that it will be more comfy to chop with over my ASH1 - no pinky rub... this is a real winner - a great overall chore knife.

Overall I am really happy - I just cant stop looking at it... I've been carrying my Rat Cutlery RC6 quite a bit lately and I think this should easily usurp its position.....

Iphone pics for now...

Nice color combo  ;)

Shame the new B.C. is so rough. The old stuff was absolutely perfect.

Thanks for the comments guys - I might add that this is the sharpest Busse I have had and a nice even grind - cut my thumb already like a moron. Gave it 10 minutes on the sharpmaker and strop and it screams

@Lycosa - thanks Feels like a rite of passage getting a blade DIRECT from busse - might just frame my swine shaving sheet - oh wait, that was the first thing that got test-shredded :D:D

I dont know guys, it might be replacing my ASH1 for the 6 incher niche - maybe its just the honeymoon phase but...

@lunde - great minds... but somehow yours looked A LOT nicer ;)

@MM - have you beat on your new bamas yet? I cant imagine the new coating to stand up that well - its like sand was added to the mix, you know? But at least now we dont have to worry about glare giving up our positions :D

@thalestin - i agree the handle is pretty long, but I came to appreciate the added lenght esp with the sar4 - its amazing how much an inch or two of handle can allow you to "choke down" for good momentum while chopping - makes a big difference for this... BTW - hows your new gransfors bruks? I picked up two wetterlings and the andrews modified S&N - BUT I still have a hankering for the GBs - damn are they lookers!!!

The only ones I have the new coating on are the AD and MS - neither of those is much of a beater knife, and if I keep them they will end up being used for more mundane purposes that are unlikely to mess up the coating too much. I'm waiting for you to baton that tank buster through a few logs so I can see how the coating holds up. The older, better version of Bama Clay is very, very durable. But it's also very smooth. I could see this crap coming off in chunks.

I wont be able to feed it some tree for a few weeks, but I will see how the coating stands up and get some pics. Maybe I'll just bring it to central park

I'm hoping it might smooth out like some of the rougher powder coats as opposed to flaking off. I have faith that the boss knows what he is doing with the coatings.

Excited to see how the TB does against my other 6 inchers - they are my biggest knives now that I got rid of my Dogfathers and until my BWM arrives.
