Xmas present for my son

My son requested a Santoku for Xmas and he decided on high carbon blade with Cocobolo Scales and red liner.

This works out great because he cooks most of our dinners....so Merry Xmas to me as well

I'm sure your son will be very happy. A few questions, what is the thickness of the blade stock? Also, what type of grind did you go for, asymmetric or symmetric?

It is .125" Thick and it has a right hand grind and will get a convex edge.
