I've been thinking about putting new sights on my XD45 and I like the looks of these. Dot the 'I' and shoot. If anyone has these on any of their guns or knows somebody who does I'd like to hear what you/they have to say about them. Good or bad, doesn't matter. TIA.

I have them on my Glock 19. They are easy to pick up (looks like a golf ball), which is why I bought them. I do think that they are a little faster than regular sights, but speed is mostly a function of the shooter rather than the equipment. The most noticeable difference for me is eye strain. I find that normal sights tend to create more fatigue during a long range session. All in all, I like them and would recommend them. But sights are sights, and Big Dots are not going to change your world. They may look somewhat radical compared to normal sights, but they work just the same (i.e. front sight and press).

I have a big dot on my J frame revolver and my dad has them on his GP100. The plus is that it's easy to pick up at close self defense distances. The negative is that I think they're more difficult to get precision shots with beyond 10 yards. I guess it depends on what you want to do with them. I don't think that any major IDPA or USPSA competitor uses them but that might be like what Moon0507 said about the skill of the shooter.

A friend asked "Why put rifle sights on a handgun?" Did I listen? Nooooooo. So I put a set on my Glock 19. Worked with them for 6 months or so. Took them off and replaced them with Trijicons.

They are too big. At distance they block the target and decrease accuracy.

Good for quick close in shooting. I have a set on a BHP. Great for that.
