XXL Sunglasses....?

Here's kind of an odd one: a friend of mine has a rather generous melon, and many kinds of sunglasses just aren't comfortable as they get stretched across the temples. A good example was Ray Bans, which just weren't wide enough. He doesn't want to go with a prescription pair, as his eyes are still pretty good.

Any experience with a brand that'll fit across a broader(or is it wider?) than average head?

TIA!

I have the same problem...a damn wide head! I have found that Oakley Zeros fit the best. They are excellent optical quality (as all Oakleys are) and are a frameless design around the lens. They are very flexible because of this and put almost no pressure on the temple, yet because of the extended, wrap around ear peices they also arn't likely to slip off easily. A lot of people may not like the styling, but they are oftly comfy. I've also recently begun wearing a pair of Smith Districts. I find that they fit pretty well also with very little pressure. They are a little more likely to slip off though. They also have interchangeable lenses (comes with drk brown, orange and yellow).

Other glasses that fit well are any with spring temples, or adjustable temples. Oakley's X-metal line and the new magnesium line work, but are a little pricey.

One advantage of working at a bicycle shop that sells Oakley and Smith is that I've gotten to try on almost every single pair in the line.

While my head doesn't fin into the "mondo huge" category, I find this a problem too. Many stiles of Revo's fit me perfectly, and a few are actually too big for me.

I don't know if I have a wide head, I wear a 7 5/8 hat. Smith sunglasses are my favorite. I have bent many metal frames to fit better on other brands.

I have not had good luck with Ray Bans. The screws always fall out and you have to get replacements from Ray Ban. Their service is slow to bad.

Excellent suggestions from all and much appreciated---I hadn't thought of the Oakleys or the Revos in this sense. Those will be the easiest to find and test. I'll keep an eye openmfor the Smiths, too, they've been mentioned before.

Thanks again!
