Y2K Compliant

It is good to know, as the Y2K date approaches that HI Khuks are and always have been "Y2K Compliant". If things do get crazy, it will be good to have such an excellent tool/weapon around to provide for and protect myself and my loved ones. We currently don't have any firepower in the house, but an arsenal of Khuks can definitely deter a would-be burglar, etc. Just another reason for having these critters around. (Justification?) May all of you get through the next little while, safe, warm, happy and well-fed and watered!

Rob, you're right. A khukuri is a nice tool/defense item to have in the inventory.

I forgot to mention, in the Bikram Sambat calendar which Nepal uses it will soon be 2057 so the HI khukuris went through Y2K about 57 years ago and have been compliant ever since.

Though not popular as it used be in Japan, next year is 2660 in Ko-ki calendar, which most Japanese except elders even don't know the existence. Zero-fighter was named after the year it was made, year 2600 or '00.
Anyways I or Australian forumites can report what will happen tomorrow if possible...

This is one of those times that you hope that the trust you have put in the people fixing and testing the systems that you rely on, is not misplaced. Small problems in a lot of places could add up to large problems. Lord willing, the effects of any problems that may occur will be inconveniences, and will not cost people their lives...
