I used to get a lot more knives done before this internet thingy and BF..... I get up, check BF.... go in the shop get blades cleaned up after HT, come in check BF while I get another cup of coffee. Smoke a cigarette, arrange stuff on the bench, check BF... I'd say BF has probably cut my production by a third but I'm having a lot more fun :) and becoming a better maker (although that's arguable by most) :D

Reminds me of being evaluated during my second year of college baseball umpiring. Evaluator told me I was a horseshit umpire. But last year you told me I was horseshit. Yeah, you're still horseshit but I'll ride in the car with you now. Previous year my evaluation was "did I ride with you? I hope not because I don't want to be seen with your horseshit a@@."

Will,I find the same true. I spend a lot of time here. It is time well spent, I think.
The enjoyment of the intercourse, the thinking out of procedures ( thrice in the head= once in the hand), and the learning from others is really worth the time. I get out to the forge and still get a lot done. The breaks help from making the forging tiring. Like you, I can't come in and get something from the work room without looking at the computer to see what is up on BF.

Same thing here. When I got the internet and joined this time consuming site, the house went downhill. Sure the wood gets cut and work gets done in the shop, but the dust and clutter are piled up higher than the snowbanks.

When the computer gets sick and is in repairs, then things start looking good around here. There was life before the internet.

I spend too much time in here. But the business is slow this time of year, and coming to BF is like travelling to another world. Really:)
The best part is meeting guys like Will:thumbup:

I'd say the same..... cept y'all probably smell better over the internet than in person. I KNOW I smell better over the internet :D When the kids can tell when you come in the house from the shop is when it's time to wash your "shop" shirts.... I've got 3 long sleeve denims from work that I wear in the shop. We get new uniforms every 18 months so I order a few shirts for forging/grinding.

Whats the matter Will, you cain't think about putting on your apron eather?
Oh by the way --Don't blame BF for what AGE does.
Jerry

I do wear a leather apron... usually.... at least I remember to after I set a shirt on fire at the forge. :D

Man! I thought I was the only one who was on BF too much. Sometimes I take my laptop over to my knifemaking area and get on blade forums. My wife god bless her thinks I am a little crazy. Ya know my grass needs a cut, my honey do list is getting longer and its all of yall's fault.;) Seriously though, I know I have save alot of heart ache and money from all the advice that I get here. So its worth the the tall grass. Now maybe I should get back to work.
