hi all,

here is a knife, a bit different of my usual work:
the blade and the guard have some japanese genes,
the grip- ok- it´s a wieland.

some specs:
W1, forged and clayhardened
habaki and guard: bronze/wrought
grenadill-wood
total 37cm
blade only 23cm
thickness 8,0-2,0mm
balance at the front-point of the habaki

thanks for looking!

gerhard

ps:
some more pics with details in the second post.

Wieland,

Marvelous in every detail. Love the upset rims on guard and sheath stud.

I'm not one to make noises when I'm by myself looking at pictures of knives, but I realize I just did when I set eyes on this WONDERFUL piece!
Dang, man, you are one of the best knife designers I can think of. That you can bring your designs to life so handily...well, I can see why Dave's got his cheque book out!

Beautiful knife! The bronze and the texture of the handle really make it pop.

Again you bring out a truly wonderfull knife!
As allways I love the design and the beautiful lines alot, but the textures and your choice of materials is what really does it for me!

Great work as allways!!

Awesome - is it for sale?

I see major Don Fogg influences in this, and I mean that as the highest form of compliment I can make.

I agree!! Anytime you get a Don Fogg influence comparison it is the highest form of a compliment one can make.
Not only is this piece beautiful but I appreciate the many detailed photos .

Thank You!

Not at all what I was expecting when I opened this thread.

You knocked this one so far out of the park!
