That and the fact that there is nothing on that blade that was protected by any enforceable design patents.

If you want to see a true design ripoff, check out the blade database sticky above and look at the Chinese Patrol Machete rippoff. Complete with Fake Cammillus box ,trademarks and picture of Ethan..

Hahaha. It's looks stupid anyway. The bk3 we have now is already longer that the original design. That "version" is pretty dumb.

at least that was shut down and fairly harshly afaik.

steal design elements? sucks but they get away with it...

steal the man's picture? oh no... no you did not :)

At this point, I don't even associate the new Camillus with the old Camillus, Hard to believe they are starting to take other designs and slapping them on crappy knives.

This is what happens when we sell the name to foreign investors. Worse than taking a crap on your kitchen table before eating dinner....it all stinks.

It takes hubris to pull stunts like that, doesn't it?

That fake chicom Patrol machete was as bad as those fake Leupold MK1 Scopes.

Pretty ballsy stuff.

Well, there is an upside. When this POS breaks and the owner is looking for a similar knife, chances are he (or she) will get a Tactool.

You know they sell shorter versions of these at the Mart of Wals, right?
I'll stick with my 3 :D

First off this thread was from jan 2012 when they first came out. Second I did try new Camillus knives at the time the first time I opened the clam pack it feel apart on my desk AND THAT WAS A FIXED BLADE they sent me a replacement that rattled like it wanted to fall apart. A lot of the Carnivores have been broken when in use, many of them while being reviewed on youtube doing normal chopping tasks. The bolt the holds the handle on that goes threw the tang leaves too little material on either side and that's where they tend to break. Also the main purpose of me posting this back in the day was to point out an obvious knock of the Becker Tac Tool by a company that had just started up.

Wow. Necrothread........with no useful info added.

I will say this, owning several Camillus knives over the years, they were a solid American company. Now, they are a name owned by a company called Acme.

Think Wile E. Coyote.

And I don't own a single Apple Product.
