Still have operational taskings over in Afghanistan, and may be picking up some work over in Baghdad. Lot's of newbies in the squadron and somebody's got to get 'em ready for the "real deal". Ain't no time for this old sergeant to hang up his "battle rattle" just yet. My reenlistment ceremony will be Friday, the 26th of September, I'll post pics.:D

It is great to know that a guy with your experience and character will be taking care of the younger guys who are out there for the first time.

Sarge-- were you supposed to be retired??? ;) I must have missed that. Those newbies don't know how lucky they are to have somebody like you showing them the ropes. Stay safe wherever you end up.

I'm proud of you Sarge. I'll say it again. The sargeants run the armed services. Without them, everything would grind to a halt. Keep up the good work Bud.

Sarge, I think you know how I feel about this deal. You do my old heart good. Just take care of yourself too.:)

Just go easy on the slick-behind-the-ears lieutenant who swears you back in!

No worries there, the Lieutenant Colonel that'll be swearing me in served as my commander in Afghanistan, and I as his 1st Sgt. I wouldn't have had it any other way.;)

Good job! We're proud to have you at the helm! I'll have a Fat Tire to help you celebrate;) :D

Sounds like my cousin Mark. After 20+ yrs in the AF, 8 trips to the ME theaters, fuelling planes/tanks/AVs on 150+ degree tarmacs, clothed only in a protective suit and a couple quarts of his own sweat, he's having a hard time letting it go. It must be a Sargeant thing! He swear he's in fer only two more years...we'll see.

Keep up the good work!

I appreciate the kind words and all the support, but y'all don't need to give me too much credit for sticking it out. Basically boils down to three things, the fight's still on, I've still got the "fire in my belly", and I still love what I do and the people I get to do it with. Plenty of time later for a rocking chair and a grand kid on my knee. ;)

We need guys with the kind of dedication you have Sarge. It's always nicest to work with somebody who still wants to be there.

Thank'ew Sarge!!!! Myself, I love being retired!!!!:D

Gin, Fat Tire? Me Likey!!!! Dave K introduced me to the brew in Phoenix.
I'm glad my kids don't loke good beer. I left one in the fridge, don't understand how that happened, and it was there a year later, nice and cold and still tasty!!!!:D

Sarge, a man with your experiance and dedication will only retire when the Powers That Be, force you to retire. I know, because I am the same. That's why I'm still in the Reserves. I was forced out of active duty, but untill they make me leave, I will stay in the Reserves. Got to keep an eye on the youngsters, and teach them what we know. Stay safe, and remember Murphy's Laws of Combat.
