SO a friend of mine hired me to make her a knife for her boyfriend, since he is a Chef or a Kitchen enthusiast she asked me to make him a Sushi / Sashimi knife

SO I ordered a blade from Brisa, a Yanagiba Damascus Blade and since she liked the handle of another knife I have ( curly Birch) I decided to make a Japanese/ norwegian sushi knife mixing both, a japanese white steel damascus blade with curly birch and reindeer antler handle

here are some pics of the work in progress

I did try to make the handle slim but functional since I read that a Japanese knife usually has a slim handle, the reason for this ( and I quote) is that in a japanesse knife " the handle does not fit the hand of the user but his ability"....yeah does sound intelligent however does not completely answers the question....so lets just say I stuck with the japanesse design but with more beautiful materials.

here is a video I made also of the knife
