Yangdu, I just received my Bura M43. Thank you. And I also wanted to thank you for the truly generous gesture you extended to me.

You see everybody, I specifically requested a Bura M43 as I have a Chiruwa AK made by his son, Prakash. My intent was to have the Bura-made knife for myself and to give the one made by his son to my own when he got old enough. Maybe I'm being goofy, but the whole Father-son connection thing seemed kinda nice to me. At any rate, I called HI and spoke with Yangdu. She dug around and found what I was looking for. To my surprise and deep pleasure, she also tucked away in the package a little kagas katne along with a note stating: "Hello David. This little kagas katne is for your little baby son." The thoughtfulness of the gesture really hit home. I'm so glad I have met you and Bill - even if it has been only over the phone and Internet. I feel like I'm a better man for it.

David (and Connor:)who loves his little knife)

PS. I hope you're feeling better soon Uncle Bill!

Here here, hats off to a fine lady, I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing her luck and success to go with the strength and courage she's shown in holding down the fort.

She's doing a GREAT job! I ordered on Friday, and the blade arrived today (Monday.) These folks are a class act. The first khukuri I purchased, Uncle Bill didn't expect me to send him payment until I was sure I liked what I bought. Needless to say I maied my check off to him immediately:D But it isn't often that you have the privilege of dealing with someone with that level of respect and trust in this day and age.

Totally agree.

Keep in mind, she's had to deal with Bill for all these years.

I don't know how she kept just the shipping straight. And, now she is handling the whole works except what Uncle Bill can do from Kansas? She sure has my respect. Well, They both have mine.:)

My hats off to a truly fine lady also. Thank you Yangdu!

My prayers are also with you and Uncle Bill.

Thank you both for keeping things going. Ordered one of the blems for a clerk at work. She wanted a gift for her father who likes knives. Showed her some literature on khukuris and she wanted one. So I ordered an AK blem and she was thrilled to get it today. Wasn't a gift from me but I did pass it on for the $50 I paid for it. Will possibly start another case of HIKV. Thank you Yangdu for making this possible!
:)

Yangdu is rising to the task and doing a pretty damned good job of it and she's doing it in the tradition of HI as can be witnessed thanks to this kind thread.

Plus, we may just be getting a backup system in the form of little Brother Gelbu who may come to help us out. If he shows up as planned then we have HI covered for the forseeable future and that's something I've been trying to get done for years. I guess it takes a threat of death sometimes to make us do what we know should be done. I am not nearly as worried as I once was about the future of HI.

The downside is I thought I was indispensable and I'm having to face the fact that I'm not. What a disgusting development.

hahah Bill, well you're not getting off that easy, we still want you around here on forums, even if they don't need your help to run the business. ;)

But no, I agree completely about both of these two. Great people, and I'm proud to know them.

Been told all my life that a normal person is lucky to have maybe three close friends, or people they can really trust. Well the Internet has really expanded that list for me, esp. the knife crowd in general, and the Cantina in particular. Glad I found this place, and y'all.

ANd yes, being a transplant yankee in OK now, I switch back and forth between you guys and y'all, and jsut sounds funny. :)
