Today is the first time Yangdu tried to sell some blems without my help and she screwed it up.

She got your emails and has those who bought the blems duly logged and hopefully she'll ship the right khukuris to the rightful owners on Monday.

However, she posted new threads when the khukuris sold rather than posting in the original thread which I'm sure led to some confusion. And, she got a month off when she posted new threads, referring to the blems as 10-7 offerings rather than 11-7.

I just called her and brought this to her attention. With any luck she will do better next time.

Bear with us. These are not easy times.

Don't worry about it Uncle Bill, I think everybody here is pretty understanding. It's always tough learning something new, especially on the computer. Just let her know we appreciate the effort.

She didn't really screw up. She just did it differently.

We're all watching out for her, and for you, Bill.

:)

No big.

Took me all of a full second to get in synch
when I checked in to see what was happening.

She'll be running around the internet
at full speed in no time.

I'm with ddean, took me a second to sync, but I figgered it out. Everything works out in the end. And sometimes the journey is worth the extra detours that are thrown in.

Yangdu is among friends here. She has nothing to worry about with us. If we can help in any way, just let us know.

Uncle Bill,
I think Yangdu did quite a good job for her first time out alone. We all understood the situation quite quickly. I just wish I had been there to scoop up the M-43 blem. Ah well, next time!;)

Thanks all for great understanding.

The upside of all this is Yangdu is getting practice for that time when I will be gone permanently. I've tried to get her to do this in the past but like many of us she is prone to the "always will be here syndrome." But recent family illnesses, including my own, have brought her out of her dreamstate and she is facing reality -- not without some difficulties. Better to do it now than wait until the day after my death to try.

It's important to all of us, especially the kamis who would be out of work without us or else working for a dollar a day like the rest of the kamis of Nepal, to keep this little endeavor going. Pala is training replacements in Nepal and I'm trying to do the same here. I know Himalayan Imports will not last forever but I'd sure like to see it outlive Pala and me.

Thanks again for great understanding.

I'm sure everyone on the forum would like to see HI survive too! I think that the forumites are about the best bunch of people and would help out in anyway they could. Still, hopes and prayers are for you and Pala to enjoy many more years with us! :)

Uncle Bill,

If I had a nickel for every time I screwed up, I could pay all your medical bills.

:) :) :)

"While some people hesitate because they feel inferior,
"Others are busy making mistakes and becoming superior!"

And yet another quote:

"The important things are always simple. The simple things are always difficult."

And finally one last saying for Yangdu's edification:

"Just hang in there!" "Well, how am I supposed to do that?" "Just let go!"

Trust me, Yangdu, it does eventually make sense, I swear it does.

One hallmark of HI is reasonable business dealings. I think most of us here subscribe to the "make it right" philosophy. Which is why you can ship before receiving payment - we know to do the right thing (the last time someone didn't, I'm sure they got more than a "love bite" from their shiny new khuk ;) )

Besides, this isn't the first time millions of people have jumped on a juicy Deal of the Day. Sometimes you just don't make the boat.

Don't worry too much. We'll all get things right eventually.

Don't sweat it Yangdu or Uncle Bill. I doubt any of us here will ever complain about blems being posted, even if there are a few mistakes made in doing so.

Blems posted...I missed them...Business as usual:D

Hang in there, both of you.
