Yangdu has maybe 5 of these little village sirupatis available. They are very nicely done. All they need is polishing to bring to top HI quality and you can get them for $35 each. Less than 1/2 price of regular model. Full HI guarantee.

And, here's very neat little 12 inch AK workhorses that weigh in at about 12 oz. Same as above. Good fit, hardness, standard village sarki top notch scabbard. Polish it and end up with top of the line HI or use as is. Less than half regular price at $45.

Email to get any or all of these little winners.

Little? Foot long top quality knife -- really not little. I think I'll stick these into the UBBB category.

So easy to refinish one of these....Just clamp the blade down and "shoeshine-sand" it with strips of sandpaper. Start at 220 and be careful around the rings. Then 320, 400 & 600. After that, I spread wax on a cloth and give 'em a good hand buffing (again, shoeshine style).

If you're afraid of scratching the bolster, just put masking tape on it to protect it while you're working.

Otherwise, a little polishing compound on an emery cloth (fine grit) will polish the bolster up real fast.

not sure what you mean, Bro.....I'd just sand it smooth and buff it (as stated in the previous post).

Oops....now I see I didn't specify the handle in my first post....that's what I was referring to....rather than the blade. You could do it to the blade too...just sand it lengthwise so all the scratches go straight down the blade to the tip. 600 grit leaves a pretty nice finish. Requires more frequent oiling/protection, but I like the satin finish.

Mmmm....the villager siraputi will make a good first knife for my son. Bare bones enough, for him to be rough with, as well as a great project for him to learn knife maintenance and beautification. Figure, I can teach him how to sharpen, polish, and wood-chuck all on one knife. ;) Cant wait for it to arrive, but since he is still a little to young in my books to own it, I think Dad will have to take guardianship till he is of proper age to take possession ;):D

The strange vibrations you feel when you read this screen is my mind's YHF, i.e., Yearning Harmonic Frequency, interferring with the electro-static field of the earth as I look at the 12 inch AK's.

Sorry about that. I must restrain myself as I await (patiently)(Are we there yet?) for the knife which won't be named until its time in the Universe.

Resume your normal programming.
