that m43 is gorgeous! and the haysia, very interesting. I'm going to search around to give me something to do on this rainy day but can anyone tell me about the historical background of the haysia?

:D Shoe polish.

No joke.

But it won't fit so well with the color of that beautiful grip.

Well I will se when it arrives, hard to really tell from a photo, it will spend most of its time on a display stand perhaps minus a sheath.

I’m surprised the Karambit is still there, if I didn’t get the kantana that would be mine, the stag ones are beautiful, and put them on display with a light down on them and they really stand out.

Man I love that M43. I do have a question is that about the normal length for a M43. I checked the sight and 18 inches is listed as the "Usual size" and I seem to remember seeing some smaller but has anyone ever seen seen one around the 20" mark?

Nice one, Azis. I happened to log in two minutes after Yangdu's post and SERIOUSLY considered it. Would have made a great companion to my late father's WWII bringback katana. BUT, I said no.

As far as black, Kiwi makes a black shoe dye product in a sponge-tipped applicator bottle that works like a charm. They also make edge dressing, but the black show dye works a bit better, IMO and experience.

Enjoy the katana; that handle is artwork.

Nope. In my experience anyway, they run 18" and 27-29 oz. This one is actually a tiny bit heavier than usual.

Norm

P.S. I love that Katana. I have one with a similarly carved horn handle, but it has no where near that much tempering curve to the blade. Nice!

That M43 is whispering to me but if I purchase it today I may well be a eunuch come sunrise. Will someone please purchase it so that I know it isn't free any longer?

All nice...funny thing though...I was trying for a year and a half to get a Hasiya...never got close. I ended up with Rusty's and now they show up on the DOTD.

Karma I guess...just didn't know that I was waiting for a special one.
