Mr. Bad Example has made a tremendous sacrafise to only get one of the nicest and rarest items of all.

That is about as nifty a little display as I've seen. Yangdu puts these up differently than did Bill, doesn't she?

A very nice Sunday Evening presentation.

All you lucky guys with money and not just eyes!

I've always wanted a Hasiya. I don't know what I'd do with it exactly. It's almost worth growing a garden just to be able to use one.

Whew, that was close! Was typing up the "send me" email when the post hit the forum. I want a review from the lucky forumite who got this one!

I think lately we have so many new offred models .. Katunje, Pachthar and Chandra Shamsher .. all new names which are unknown to us before! I guess all those models already existed in Nepal and they are not new breeds!

Aunti Yangdu

Are there any meaning to those names? I believe Chandra Shamsher .. means .. shamsher with the shape of crescence .. please do corect me!

Anyhow .. as always .. I am just too slow in the grabbing session! Maybe I have to fall back to the special order purchase!

Wow, I really like that Samsher. Too bad the power was out all of yesterday so I didn't see these deals...

Email sent on hat anyways. If nobody else already got them all.

I have a 18.5" 29 oz. Bura Samsher, the difference is this one has the hill walnut wood. You guys have to see this wood up close to really appreciate it. This is a great price as well. Nice double snag for the new guy! (Correction: Wayne has been around since May of last year, not exactly new but couldn't place the screen name at first!)

Mine does have the distinction of being the one that sliced open Yangdu's index finger (Uncle Bill mentioned it on 3/7/5) though when she was unpacking it, so it has since been dubbed the "Yangdu killer blood blade." :D It is sharp, to say the least.

Berkley; yes, that was 85 bucks shipped for a two pounder. Unreal.

That's for sure! BTW, not that I pay attention to such things, but that is a full $50 below the previous _blem_ price for that model. Although one with a split scabbard did go for $95 once.

Great chopper for sure.

Here was the first posting on the Samsher, where Uncle Bill explained the name on 12/7/2004:

"Exemplary khukuri made by Sgt. Karka. This is a reproduction of a khukuri used by Prime Minister Chandra Samsher. 20 inches and 39 ounces of very fine khukuri. I think the handle is rato Chandan -- beautiful whatever it is. Take this one home for $150 today. UBBB+"

I was lucky enough to snag this guy and it is amazing. It weighs out at an even 40 oz. on my scale, and is scary sharp. On 12/13/04 there was a second one, which I missed, that was 17.5" and 32 oz., which is a much handier size similar to what has been offered since. That one was also by Sgt. Karka and went for $125.

All future samshers since that date (4 to date) have been by Bura, all with chandan handles except for this one. Other firsts: this is the first one (of the 4 Bura's) that has not been a blem, the first with this wood as mentioned, the first at this low price, and the first without a habaki bolster!

Regards,

Norm
