I REALLY like the wood handled AKBs that are starting to crop up here and there. I might have to snag one of those puppies some day especially now that Kumar seems to be making them as well as Bura.

Make it stop! Make it stop!

Seriously, that Bura Special looks quite appealing, but after yesterday's Foxy Folly feeding frenzy, I am sated.

I really like these now more prevalent Chiruwa Villager BGRS's, but I have so many dang BGRS's now I am having trouble justifying it just because of the chiruwa tang. Of course that never stopped me before! :)

The standard tang ones seem plenty strong to me; guess this is just an added measure of strength to count on.

But, I also remember Yvsa doesn't much like them, so can use that knowledge to help me save some $!

Norm

I ordered 15 inch 22 ounce village Ganga Ram special by Bura. Nice chiruwa horn handle. $70 YBB

This would be my first khukuri

Do you think it's a good first choice?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

Another tasty and curvy-licious Bura Special...

I sure hope they keep these on the menu.

And Jake's right about the wood handle AKB's- beautiful. Like buying one already customized...

Welcome to the Cantina! I have a bunch of khuks, and a bunch with Chiruwa handles, but no BGRS with that style handle. I predict that since it is a Villager it will be very sharp (you should read the safety thread sticky by the way!), and super strong. It is an excellent first choice, somewhat rare because of the handle, and should just about last you forever! Great deal as well.

Stick around and check the daily best buys and I'm sure you'll see 3 or 4 or 100 others you would like to have. :D

Regards,

Norm

Seax, Kumar Karda left.

I bought the Villager Chiruwa BGRS that was offered on 8/01 and am extremely impressed. It is the twin to the one offered here and appears to be bulletproof. It has different markings than those on my WWII model and I'm trying to figure out what they represent. My BGRS has a different balance to it than my WWII model.

Mine was $70 also and is a steal for what you get in return. I've bought three khukuris in as many weeks so they are addictive. Good luck!

Waturz the markings at the bend are the Devengari initials for BirGhorka instead of H.I. if that's what you're talking about.:D

Each and every khukuri will have a different balance, even those that seem identical will be a little bit different.
That's because they are hand made and the sometimes delicate differences in weight between say two AKs of the same length.
The Chiruwa handle will also make a little difference.;)

Seventy-one Sarges sold.

Has anyone else noticed how "artfully" the blades are laid out for the DOTD lately.
The grass mat is a perfect background.

A late posting today. Nice to see new sharklings get in on the action. Just remember, you can't just buy 10.

email sent for the 12 inches Pen knife (if Edward hasn't already ordered it ...),

next time i will be faster for the "15 inch 22 ounce village Ganga Ram special by Bura" :) ,

Alex, Alex, Alex....

You're in the fast current now. Some of these guys have a second window opened, addressed, filled in with complete billing information and ready to send BEFORE they open the H.I. site.

Then they cut and paste and send before the pixels on the DOTD have settled.

It will be a while before you can walk on the rice paper with leaving footprints, grasshopper. Do not seek; find.

Persevere.

Have fun. It is nice to want something.
