I was over at a cousin of mine the other day. Her son had been working out back lately, sawing off some of the lower branches and sawing into one tree that he's planning to take down. Figuring he'd appreciate some help processing the fallen branches, I ran back home and brought my wooden handled 22" Chit by RR. The largest of the branches were 3-4" in diameter. Within 45 minutes, the branches were in the burnpile, waiting to dry out.

The razor sharp edge came out unfazed, but the handle developed a crack in it about 3" long. I first noticed it after several minutes of chopping, but kept going to see if it would enlarge any. It didn't, so I'll fill the crack in with some chakma handle-colored dust when I have time.

As for the one tree, I decided to leave it be and let the son take it down in the direction he wants to. He said that he's taking his time with the yardwork anyway, so I should get to have some more fun in the near future, this time with some pics.

Sounds like you had some fun there Bob, the 22 Chit must have made it easy. I had a substantial limb come down in my yard last week, the result of a nasty wind and rain storm. Out came the Chiruwa AK and the limb ran for cover, ha ha. I am really starting to appreciate the chiruwa handle, pure function.:D
