Yardwork With My WWII

Yesterday I took my 16.5" WWII over to a friend of mine. He wanted several saplings removed from his yard. I went at them first, then after awhile my friend wanted to do it. As he worked, he kept saying things like, "Neat" and "This thing kicks butt" We cleared several dozen saplings and chopped off a 2.5" dead branch in about fifteen minutes.

Now a question. My khuk took some dings and chips while working, and I want to work them out with the coarse side of my Diafold. What motion do I use? Do I stone it as if I was trying to sharpen it (edge toward the stone) or do I use some other motion?

Can you steel them out, BB? Chips are chips, but if the edge is rolled or dented you might be able to save some steel by realigning it.

I've managed to steel out the dings, so now there are just chips. These were from normal heavy use (hitting concrete and steel, probably). I'll have to get my friend a WWII or AK villager someday. That way, he'll have a khuk of his own to (ab)use.
