Do supportive wives count? Mine suports my knife collecting, 'specially in my retirement. Even gave me a surprise BD present for a weekend knifemaking class a few years ago!

Here are a few photos of my Benchmade flock!

I took my girl and my roommate to a surplus store once, to find a better sheath for a Laredo Bowie. The search was out of luck, but on the way home we stopped at Canadian tire, and they both ended up buying Gerber folders.

That was a really good afternoon; I think that on terms of sheer mathematics, finding a girl who's *into* knives is more than most of us can hope for.

It is truly a great thing, women who dig blades.
I’ll share a funny story for you about my wife. When she was in college while we were dating, this guy sat down next to her on the first day of class. She knew who he was from a tip off. He was a total ****bag who you probably get little notes about from the police when he moves into your town. Well, he’s being flirty and notices her textbook still has the wrapper on it.
“Need a hand with that?”
“No thanks, I’ve got it.” She says. From her sleeve she produces a 4” serrated Karambit, snaps it open one-handed and slices the cover off.
The guy sat at the opposite corner of the lecture hall for the rest of the semester.

My wife started out nervous around knives. Seeing me use mine all the time, and occasionally borrowing it, got her to the point of deciding to try one of her own. I took her to a knife and gun show and let her pick out one that suited her (a little Buck Lightning in metallic blue).

After a while I gave her a Spyderco Mouse, with a kydex neck sheath, as a present. She really fell in love with her Mouse while working at a job that required her to open a lot of big cardboard boxes. It cut better than a box cutter and kept its fine edge for a long time.

When she decided to try a larger folder she settled on a Spyderco Vesuvius. I eventually bought her a prototype of the Spyderco Ocelot which has been her EDC ever since.

Haha yeah shes def a keeper and I love her for more than just being into knives. Nice knives Joe your wife seems more than supportive! Yeah I gave Shell a bali to fend off the pervs and shes getting into those too lol. I was thinking of getting shell a smaller spydie like a dragonfly or lava too! Thanks for all the comments and stories! I hope everyone can be as lucky too. She digs camping too!

The forbidden fruit is much sweeter.

her entire culture has pounded the whole "knives are scary weapons!" BS into her head. I don't blame her for this, but it sure makes everything harder.

In an attempt to rectify this, i'm sending her a Victorinox Swiss Army Alox solo with her name engraved on it for christmas. I mean sh*t, it's about all they can legally have there anyway.

Hopefully she'll be like "wow, this is useful and pretty!" we'll see!
