I finally received my Mystery Ranch Dragonslayer! Waited almost four weeks for it to arrive in the Netherlands but is was worth the wait. First impression is WOW! What quality!
I wanted a pack that was not too big but with a load bearing hip belt. I will use this for day hikes with the wife and daughter. I'll be carrying all our stuff, change of clothes for the little one, rain gear and maybe a tarp, FAK, water, camera etc. The missus will carry the girl.
The hip belt is very comfy and the tri-zip design is a nice feature. I'll be doing a full review when I have the time and after I've used it for a while. In the meantime here are some shot's:

Tri-zip. The middle zipper goes under the flap up and starts at the word 'Mystery'. It has to rain up before any water goes in. :)

The color is foliage, I used a graycard to set the whitebalance. It's more gray than green, I like it a lot. I also have an foliage Kifaru E&E G2 on order and I'm very curious what Kifaru foliage looks like.

Waist belt is the 'upgrade' live wing. Very comfy. The belt can be stowed away in the pack when not needed. Nice feature. The Futura yoke is in height adjustable and has a plastic framesheet. My wife is a tad bit shorter than I am and we can both use the pack with the medium belt and medium yoke.

Opened pack. Water bladder compatible with a loop to hang the bladder on.
All in all, a very nice pack, 2300 cubic inches and with the soon:p I hope, to arrive E&E I can expend it with another 1000 cu.

Great looking pack...you have to update us as you use it in the field. I've been interested in Mystery Ranch packs for a while. I like that Y-designed zipper pack access. They make bomb-proof packs like Kifaru. The foliage color looks similar to the Kifaru Pointman I have...there are several diffferent shades floating out there, but it's a nice subdued color. Congrats and let us know how it works out...

Killer looking pack. Really like the setup of the pockets an the overall looks.

Looking forward to hearing how this pack holds up

NICE!

I bought the Mystery Ranch NICE Crew Cab last year and have been thinking of a daypack bag to use with the NICE frame. The NICE Longbow is very similar to the Dragon Slayer and is on my short list of gear to get. (Like I need another pack!)

Enjoy your new pack!

Very nice:thumbup: I just added to my favourites so I can take a better look at their line later on.

Very nice muckmb! If my Dana design pack ever bites the dust, I will look to Mystery Ranch for a replacement. Same guy, different company; still awesome stuff.

Nice looking pack, definitely one I'm going to keep an eye on in the future

Small update:
Used the pack as a weekendbag:barf: for a visit plus overnighter at a friend. Change of clothes for the missus, little missus and me plus all the other stuff they use ;)
Weight was about 12 kilos and that was certainly doable. No outdoor use yet, to busy with regular life unfortunately. Some updated pics:

Waist belt folded, vertically on the side.

Next to my Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon II, which was my edc, but I replaced it last summer by a camelback mule nv and that will be replaced by the Kifaru E&E. Yes, I have a pack problem...:D

The more I use it, the more I like it. Highly recommended.

I've always wanted to play with a Mystery Ranch pack. I hear the quality is second to none.
