Well I was lucky enough to get in on the latest batch of knives from Three Sister's Forge. I asked Jim if he could do one with texturing on both sides of the scales. The texturing he put on this one is unlike pictures I've seen of others. He told me there may be one or two others with texturing like this one but not many. And I believe he said none with double texturing like this. It's very grippy... almost like the texturing on the G10 on a Manix. Fine... but rough. Jim referred to it as tree bark. He also said it was such a pain that he's likely to not do another double texture. Or at least one like this. Lock up is tank like and the opening and closing is as smooth as silk. He really know's what he's doing when it comes to making a fine framelock. I was really impressed with the quality and workmanship. The hand fitting that goes into these is top shelf.

Looking good! I like that blade shape/handle shape/scale texture combo a lot!

I think it's going to be an all around performer. The blade and shape lend itself to most chores urban or rural. And I think the handle is comfortable enough that I'll be able work with for a long time. A big problem I have with most folders is there isn't enough handle. Usually a knife with a 3.5" blade just isn't gonna have enough handle for a guy with paws like mine. This longer blade and handle fit well in the hand and are quite usable.
