Uncle Bill,
What happened to the YCS? I dissapeared from the forums over the summer and for part of the fall, and the YCS dissapeared from the website! That was such a beautiful knife, and I really wanted one (stil do, but after my AK, it will be a while before I can afford another). Are they off the shelf for good?

There was one for sale left on the table at the convention. No idea if it sold or not.

Dang, somehow I missed that thread. Guess I didn't think it could be true since I picked up that beautiful Sher-made chiruwa YCSi about two months later. I hope they can get back to making some, as it is my favorite blade style. An unadorned one, with horn handle and steel furniture, would be tops on my "to-get" list.

:D

mPisi - if I hadn't been so busy playing with the above-mentioned YCS, I would have snagged that one. I have wanted a chiruwa YCS for a very long time - and those were quite a deal.

Yes, the YCS got yanked because of production inconsistencies. Mine (by Murali) has problems with the inlay on the kardas - just looks a bit sloppy and rushed. Also, the finish was not as nice. I've since put a new finish on it - maybe I'll post pics later.

I sure hope they come back, though. Maybe it's time to start bugging Uncle again. IIRC, I bugged him about a chiruwa YCS for almost 8 weeks straight last summer - probably caused one of his ulcers. Then the Murali version came in Sept. and I jumped on it. Only to see the chiruwas for sale a month-and-a-half later...

I am the proud third owner of a Sanu YCS. Came to me via D7Reamers, who got it from Alan (ACStudios). I love it. Massive yet compact. Those Sher Chiruwa YCSs are exceptional knives.

My point to all of this is you may be able to keep an eye on the for sale/trade lists, or the UBBBs. They turn up every now and again. 30% of my HI products are previously owned.

Correction: it was an Yvsa, but it waa the
Cherokee Rose Scagel style Bowie , not the special.
