I know they ceased production on this model, but after handling them at the Khonvention I'd just like to say if they EVER do a run again I'm in for one. I don't care about all the fancy stuff or even the improved karda and chakma, but just the overall shape of the blade. ;)

Hope you can find a kamis who'll make it with the dui chirra. The hardended kardas on the YCS are what keep me from getting a JKM-1! The silver fittings, the inlays...wow!

I do think the YCS is the most beautiful of wide-khuk patterns, thanks Yvsa!

Think used market HD...that's what I'm doing.

Agreed. Thats how I got the YCS and the HI Falcatta. Luckily, most HI collectors collect a lot of HI, and also have collections of other blades they like to mainntain. To do this, they will often sell off pieces to obtain other pieces, keeps things going....this is your hunting ground.

Happy hunting!

Start talking...scout actively...stalk instead of sitting in the treestand!

I wish Sanu would come back! :) He was the undisputed king of the YCS. Noone else managed to do it right. To bad to, because the YCS is still one of my all time favorite khuks. ;)

Not to quibble with you Archangel, but I have a Sher YCSi that might make you change your mind :D. It is my #1 khuk, bar none. I also have a Sanu YCS, but it was made at the time of the first Maoist troubles, and is not his best work. A horn-handled, convex edged, steel furniture YCS is at the very top of my wish list.

mmmm.....yes...horn would be interesting with the inlays...I'd go for silver fittings, though...

I left a YCS sitting out on a table during the entire MWKK and no one even tried to take it home with them....oh well....

 :p :D :p

Hey Dan, I tried to keep it at my home! You said you wouldn't even entertain offers on it...if I misunderstood, please email me!

no misunderstanding, Nasty....;)

Just a bunch of honest guys at the MWKK, that's all....:D

I must have picked that beauty up three times...gorgeous...totally gorgeous!
If there was ever a startup run of them beauties I'd be sure to jump on that! :D

From my perspective, the pics just didn't do the YCS justice.
After the MWKK it made it to the top of my list. ;)

I have to confess the five finger discount idea crossed my mind....BUT I decided I didn't wanna risk losing a hand. Too many wild eyed guys with sharp knives around. :D

Links to some other great photos of YCSs have been posted in the past, for new guys who might have missed:

Ferguson's 20" AK and YCS

ACStudio's YCS in white. Somewhere there's a pic on a red background too, but I can't find it at the moment. It's not cutting the belt loop, that's just the reflection!

edit: corrected names

Raghorn,
I love the horn handles YCS's. I pray one day to find one to keep my wood handled one company. Here is a shot of my YCS in good company.
