Bookie bin lucky....hmm....sounds like a foreign name to me. Hope no Seals bust down my door tonight! I didn't get the famous triangle box in the mail this time, but it was just as good, if not better. Wrapped up like a proverbial mummy was a blade that upon unwrapping really made me smile. I love this thing! Thamar hammered this sharp looking blade out (no pun intended) and it's as handsome as the Rajkumar blade that sits on my night stand. Admittedly, in my opinion, a kuk can't get much better looking than this one. Tomorrow, after getting the pup back from the vet, it's scary sharp time for the edge. If it stays here at Toad Hall, it's gotta have a job and wall hangers don't stay here very long. so, the plan is on giving it a work out very soon. Then perhaps I'll let you know what I think of it's performance. If it performs almost as good as my KLVUK, it'll be one fine blade. Here's a brace of photos that show it and my "badass" KLVUK.

Mmm mm that's a mean looking blade. Need to get me one of them :o this collecting business is becoming costly. haha. How do you go about sharpening your khuks bookie?

Dan, you in Oz? I use a chakmak, the wife's carving knife steel, a diamond stone, or a 4" fine grit white carborundum stone. The steel/stone gets ran along the edge of the blade from just in front of the cho to the tip, not the reverse. I do not stop the stroke at the tip, but continue on past it. I'm normally not into keeping the blades looking factory new, but they must be sharp for the jobs they must do around here. Some must shave hair, others cut wood and small bones instead.

Talks like a damn butcher don't he. White carborundumajiminey stone. I'll have to check the kitchen drawer and see if I got one of them.

Then look for some small bones. If I touch the terrier I'm toast, I'll look for another victim.

Good pics Bookie, looks like it's nice and sunny there. Not wet but not sunny here.

Bookie thats a werkin blade there! About the only thing its not gonna cut is some ZZzzzzzz's! Grats brother! Love it!

Yeah mate, born and raised :p I jus went on a camping trip last weekend and put my CAK through its paces, good ol' aussie hardwood gives any knife a bit of grief. Been reading up on everyone's different methods on sharpening their khuks, trying to figure out the best way. Going to invest in some diamond sharpening tools for my khuks and other bush knives. Cheers for the info.

Carborundum sounds like a town down under hahaha

Dang fine blade there, got to keep my eyes out for one as well. Your starting to gather up a few. And what the heck is a white carborundum stone?? I know its some kinda a sharpening stone but never heard of it, got to talk plain here man, to many big words :D plus I be a former jar head so ya got to talk slow!

Hey Bookie! That Thamar Curve Spine is a great looking knife! Congratulations on getting one. I missed out on one by a minute or two but I am hoping to pick one up at some point. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it once you put it to some hard use!

Pugs--It's a white sharpening stone that is very fine grained. I use them on my knives that I carve Kentucky long rifles with.
Dan--Home away from home is Chesliegh, two out from Sofala, NSW. Fossick for AU there.
GBH2--Will do. I really admire the CS overall shape, much like Bawanna has already said. It is my fav shape of them all. Have high expectations for the blade. Can't wait to get it scuffed up & dirty.

Well what cha waiting on, want I should come down and hold the flashlight. I mean I'm your pard and helper ain't I. Seems like the right thing to do. I'll pick up the root beer on the way too. Am I a guy or what?
