Hey Guys,
Here's the deal... I am probably the newbiest of newbies when it comes to making folders. I can't seem to find any tutorials anywhere describing how I can construct one. Can anyone point me to a web site that has a pocket knife construction tutorial? Anyone have any suggestions/ideas? Any help would be terrific, thanks.

Welcome to bladeforums :D

First and foremost, have you made any other knives before? Do you have any experience with machine tools or at least working with your hands?
We need a little more info. Are you wanting to make a folder from scratch, or from a kit?

There is a lot of good info in this forum if you take the time to do a few searches. I think you will also find some very good links on Dan Gray's (graymaker) website. Its in his signature line.

Ok, well here's the deal. Although I've been involved with woodworking for quite some time, I only just started knifemaking. I have pretty much any tool or something close to it that i'd need. As of right now, I've made my blade (about 3 inches long) and now I'm trying to figure out how to mount it on a handle. I tried once but it didn't work. I used wood and the mechanism I concocted caused the wood to crack. Basically, I can do what i need to, i just need to know how to do it lol. I've done the part i'm not used to (making the blade) so now I just need to know how to make a handle that won't split apart. I'd like to make the handle out of wood if possible. Thanks for your help.

Go to your local bookstore and look for Bob Terzoula's book, it's all about making the tactical folder. Probably one of the best books out there on the subject.

Is this a friction folder, linerlock, backlock, or what?
If its a friction folder you'll probably want to put some nylatron/bronze/teflon washers on either side of the tang to keep the blade from wearing the handle, and it will need a stop pin to keep the handle from splitting/deforming. Easiest thing for that is to drill a hole through and then cut the end off of the bit you use (not the fluted part) and press it in.

If its a locking type of some sort or slipjoint, we'll need to know a little bit more about your set up.
