Do you guys like to give your favorite blades an annual cleaning? More than just an oil and wipe, that is.
I've taken to doing it to numerous EDCs, the ones I carry more frequently. I'll even polish up those with a patina that looks weird or spotty. I've found using Nevr-Dull is among the better solutions for me. Used it for years on my motorcycle chrome billet trim, exhaust, covers, etc. It comes as a big wad of cotton treated in this special solution and just wipes away surface fading, staining, even light scuffing. Makes the mark side emblems/badges and bolsters fresh and new. I even use it to remove patina, as noted, on blades that don't have an even or consistent patina - just to start fresh for the new year with a clean blade.
This comment is not meant to downplay the importance and value of a good patina on a carbon steel blade! Just mentioning how nice it is for a well used knife to be brought back close to new once in a while. Cleaning, oiling, and a nice sharpen and go....
