I bought this knife but was wondering when it was made. the serial number is 35322. Can anyone help me with this one.
 
Post a picture and we will try. I think most of the serialed ones were from the earlier production. But we don't have access to the original production records to know when what serial numbers were produced.There were slight detail differences between the two production runs (1971-1983, 1990-1991). If you have the original box and papers it would help. Those we can approximately date.

I'll post a picture as soon as i can. I will give a description for now. Tang says schrade usa 171UH. One side of the brass guard has a serial number and the other side has uncle henry written out. The stag handle has a brass plate on the botton with a brass screw in it. The blade has some faded writing the says schrade super sharp.
I've noticed that the china made knives say that as well. I was hoping this one wasn't one of those.
 
No, they are not duplicating original tang stamps, nor are they putting a country of origin on them. You do have an original Imperial Schrade as made in Ellenville, N.Y.
