Well gang my first impression is YeeeeeeeHaaaawwwww!!!!

The one that arrived here is 2-7/8" wide at the belly, 1-9/16" at the waist, 17-1/4" OAL and 3-1/2 ounces over the high limit of 28 ounces.
The handle is 4-1/4" from the top angle of the bolster too the buttcap and is approximately 1-9/16" wide and 1-1/4" thick in the center of the widest spot below the ring.
A tad too large for me but right on on the length IMO! There is No Cho Creep and no Habaki Bolster!!!!:D  :D

I finally see what is meant by the "Almost convex edge" by Sher as he is the one who made mine I'm pretty sure. Initials are S.B. and the mark a half sun with rays.
It came fairly sharp and the edge is well hardened all the way too the tip on mine.

I'm not allowed too take mine out back and see what it will do as Barb went too the Smokeshop too play the slots for a while so unless she gets back at a decent hour it will be tomorrow before I can test it.
I made an agreement with her long ago not too use the power equipement or go chopping unless she was home.
It saves her from worry and me from possibly getting hurt without any help around, a good deal all the way around methinks.
I'll see about getting some pix up in the meantime, if I can still remember how too download them too the server I have that is. ;)

What a good idea that is.

Yvsa,
This sounds great, so far. I am ready to PayPal UB as soon as You and Dan say that they seem like a GO! I hope that I can get one by Sher. I want a piece of his work. This would be a great place to start. I am happy!! :D

Let's see if this will work. Linky
Sorry for the poor pix quality I was in a hurry.:D ;)
Let me know if the link works.

Is the larger one the older model?

Yes...blued and in a Terry Sisco rig no less. It's an awesome blade...I fell for it the first time I handled it. :D

Beautiful handle on your FF prototype, Yvsa. I hope mine has that good of a handle. These smaller FFs look more attractive than the original large ones (yes JS, that's one of the originals). I remember someone saying that the kamis do better making smaller versions of original models than they do larger versions. This seems to be the case so far.

Yvsa,

Very nice!!
I hope it is everything you wanted it to be.
It sure looks it.

So it's coming in at about 2 lbs??

That's about the weight of my YCS and I kind of feel like it's too heavy for continuous work.

Is there any possibility of getting the actual run of them lighter? If not I'm pretty much out, cause I already have the YCS if I want something that heavy.

Yangdu and Bill have told the kamis to weigh the actual FFs at Birghorka, so they will be able to keep them in the desired weight range.

Thanks for the pics. Model looks good - I will wait for the test results then I may want two instead of one. Since the go ahead has not been given to the Kamis, I assume that the order book is still open?
