So I just got my new buck 124 in the mail, and I was expecting it to come in the limited edition black box, but instead it came in the regular production yellow box. I don't care either way, I bought the knife not the box, but does this mean the 124 will now be in regular production? Sorry if this has already come up and I missed it. Thanks.

This knife is amazing by the way. First impression is "WOW". This is an absolute hand-full of knife. Love it.

Also, I'm new here, hi everyone!

Buck124, Welcome. As you read the numbers on the end of your box the LE identifies it as a Limited Edition. I'm mostly sure about that designation. Those are great knives. Enjoy, DM

Yeah. I used to think that my 119 was a big knife. Now it feels just tiny after handling the 124 all day. I'm pretty sure I could kilt a grizzly barr with it if I had to. Thanks.

Mine came in black boxes also, but I'm seeing more and more of the 124's in the yellow one piece boxes.

Welcome to the forum!!

Maybe they were out of the LE boxes or perhaps it's now a regular production offering and they haven't changed the model designation? Anyone know of another LE knife that became a regular production model? That being said, CONGRATULATIONS on a great looking new Buck!!

I don't think it's regular production because it's not listed on Buck's website...at least not that I could find.

I wouldn't read too much into absence from the web site as my experience is that it never reflects the full catalog content. ( It's a conspiracy so we don't buy em cheap with our discounts....:D )

I believe that. I've been eyeing the website for the s30v folding Alpha that hasn't been in stock for months. Think I might see if the wife wants to get me something off there for Christmas. By the way that is a sweet knife.

Yeah, it just keeps impressing me the more I use it. Simple awesome knife. Also just noticed that it has the 2013 date code on the blade, if that's important to anyone. I had read that they were only to be made in 2012, and I figured I was getting one from that batch, but no.
