Yellow or Green Scallion?

This will be my first knife purchase in years and I think I want to try a Scallion to begin with and maybe pickup a Cryo or something similar later on.

I plan to order online and the colors I like best are the yellow and green just going by pictures since I've not seen in person... the yellow has the nylon handle and the green anodized aluminum.

I like the colors equally well but don't know which actually looks better or which handle style is preferred. Does anyone own either of these or can recommend one over the other?

Depends on what your uses are....The yellow would stand up to more as the plastic wouldn't scratch bad..and is easy to find if you drop it while hiking etc etc..but is ugly as hell to me in person... Green is awesome and if you don't plan on using it like crazy and throwing it around the handle will hold up well but will get light scratches overtime... I'd go with green personally as like I said the yellow one looks ugly and cheap in person..

And like always contact KershawGuy and see what he can hook you up with.

My personal favorite is the Olive/Black one if you can find it...mostly on evilbay

I concur with Chet. The yellow is yellow I don't like it but that's just me. What I do not like is the texturing for the plastic or nylon. It holds dirt like crazy. The anodized will scratch and chip, but you'd have to be pretty hard on it. In my opinion for the size of the scallion the plastic having more grip isn't really a problem because it fits entirely in my hand and I am not splitting wood with it for it to make a difference.

The green is an awesome looking color and you also have olive drab green to choose from too. That's what I have and I love it! The yellow is nice for those that like it though and would still make an awesome knife either way. Just be prepared to clean it once a week or so to keep it looking good. Even the black is a dirt magnet.

Here is one of the only pics I have of mine:

Get the green, looks and feels like quality. The nylon handles look junky to me.

I like the one chester suggested, if you cant find one they sell them by my house and could pick one up.

Gotta agree with Bob, he sent me his OD Scallion. This thing is just beautiful and oozes quality I had been searching for this version of the Scallion for ages....luckily Bob had one up for sale :D (Thanks Bob, that was bank vault packaging you did for me :)).

Anyways thought I'd add some up close and personal pics to sway your mind towards the green Scallion.

Cheers!

I am so jealous! I would love to find one of the ZT on the right (MUDD, correct?); I recently dove into collecting the ZT's, and would love to obtain the discontinued folders.

Thanks for all the replies and pictures guys I'm sold on the green but don't know which looks better the Green/Silver or the Olive/Black one.

If I can even find the Olive/Black one should I expect to pay more for it than the Green/Silver? I really like the Olive handle just can't decide if I think the black blade looks good with it guess I need a picture of the two versions side by side.:)

Call me crazy but wasn't there a 1620OL that was olive but had the satin blade? I think it was made back around 06-07. I wouldn't think you would pay anymore for the olive one anyway. There is the old version like mine, and then the new one like Chet pictured with the holes in the top of the blade. Mine has a birthday on it and the new ones don't.

So you would be looking for a 1620 OL, 1620 OLBLK, and a 1620 GRN

Don't know why but I actually like the newer design with the holes in the blade.

Ok decided I will buy the Olive/Black 1620 OLBLK if I can find one any suggestions other than putting in a Google search?

Ummm... Probably because Dave does not have them listed on his site. These are a bit harder to come by than your average scallion.

then I am sorry. I just hate ebay with all of my heart. I have seen way too many people get riped off there and I want to support the dealers that sell here first.

Yeah Ebay is a love/hate place.. I've found amazing things but have also been burned from buyers...

They are sold by a sport store I go to some times if anyone has a hard time finding one let me know.
