Looks MUCH better in my opinion without the FPR and signature. How difficult was it to remove?
If the nice silver/grey two-tone on mine wears off...Im gonna get rid of the FPR banner but I'm keeping Mr. Ethan's sig
Looks great, like the looks of it with all-over etch...if I get a FFg16 I may copy that look
Took about 20 minutes of hand sanding to get rid of the darker two-tone. That's alot of regular use, you should be good for awhile.
That is a really great job on the etching! How did you apply the blue to get that effect?
I clitch'd it! Learned it from this forum. Thanks guys! It's easy as 123. Strip it, I used Klean-strip from Walmat, cost $8. Bought Perma Blue from Walmart in the gun department for $4. Use a cotton ball, and dab it over the whole knife. I waited one minute. Then I put the knife in a small foil pan with bleach for 45 min., when it comes out its all rusty looking. I dryed and sanded it off, then applied another light coat of Pemra Blue, let it dry and hit it with a fine sanding block, then oiled it. This was my first try, didn't come out to bad. Going to do my 9 next weekend.
